Ludvig Aberg emerged as the champion this weekend at the 2025 Genesis Invitational which was moved to Torrey Pines due to the wildfires in Los Angeles earlier this year.

Despite dealing with illness early on in the tournament, the young Swedish star bounced back and shot an impressive final-round 66, birdieing four of his last six holes to clinch the title with a score of 12-under, one stroke ahead of Maverick McNealy.

Things were definitely going Aberg’s way this weekend as he even carded an ace on the 140-yard Par 3 during his 3rd round. The victory marked Aberg's second PGA Tour win and his first win at one of the 8 designated PGA-elevated events. With performances like this, it is clear why golf fans believe we’ll be hearing the name “Aberg” for quite some time.

Due to the recent passing of his mother, Tiger Woods withdrew from the Genesis Invitational, an event he has hosted since 2020. Despite not playing, he still had a significant presence at the event as Woods’ influence was seen throughout and he even made an appearance on the sidelines offering insights and advice to players. Woods also played a key role in promoting the event's charitable aspect, emphasizing the $8 million donation to wildfire relief efforts.

LIV GOLF ADELAIDE SECURED THROUGH 2031

While Joaquin Niemann clinched his 3rd individual LIV title this weekend, the golf world took a close look at what LIV Golf has built at its showcase event in Adelaide Australia.

The fan engagement at the event is consistently high — especially with standout moments like Patrick Reed's hole-in-one at the iconic Watering Hole that sent fans into an absolute frenzy as they showered the players in drinks. This years event also set a new LIV attendance record with over 102,000 fans in attendance.

The blend of elite golf and vibrant fan interaction seems to be the formula for success for LIV golf. Adelaide has proven to be the blueprint for other locations as LIV Golf and the South Australian Government announced a 5-year extension into 2031 for the event. Time will tell if the league will be able to replicate this success in “golf-starved” markets like Mexico and Korea.
