Scottie Scheffler successfully defended his title at The Memorial Tournament, becoming only the second golfer after Tiger Woods to win the tournament back-to-back.

Scheffler finished at 10-under par, closing with a two-under 70 in the final round, securing a four-stroke victory over runner-up Ben Griffin, who was seeking his 2nd win in as many weeks. Scheffler is on a complete tear right now as the win marks the third victory in his last four starts and now has his 16th PGA Tour title. Along with his $4 million earnings, the 700 FedExCup points earned move him to 1st place.

His victories include a dominant performance at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, where he shot a record-tying 31-under 253—the lowest 72-hole score since 1983—and won by eight strokes. Scheffler then captured back-to-back Memorial Tournament titles before claiming the PGA Championship by five strokes for his third major championship.

Across these three wins, his combined victory margin was 17 shots, and his season earnings have exceeded $14 million, cementing his position as the World No. 1.

MAJA SECURES FIRST MAJOR

The 2025 U.S. Women’s Open, held at Erin Hills, saw Maja Stark of Sweden claim her first major championship title. Stark finished at 7-under-par 281, securing a two-stroke victory with a final-round even-par 72, just enough to best the current number one ranked female golfer in Nelly Korda. Stark became the third Swedish woman to win the event, following Liselotte Neumann (1988) and Annika Sorenstam (2006).

A surprising element to Starks clam demeanor during the first major of the year came in the form of a comedic relief from caddie, Jeff Brighton. Prior to becoming a caddie on the LPGA tour, Brighton was a stand-up comedian and used his skills to calm Starks nerves in route to her first major victory.

When asked about his jokes on course, Stark said "It's great, because it kind of makes me focus on what he's saying instead of how I'm feeling and stuff”. Stark can also laugh her way to the bank as she cashes in on the $2.4M paycheck
