SUB 60 HEADLINES

Ludvig Åberg's golf game is marked by its remarkable simplicity, resembling an ideal swing that artificial intelligence could generate. On Sunday, he won The RSM Classic and claimed his first PGA Tour victory in record-setting style, shooting 29-under 253 to claim victory by four shots over Mackenzie Hughes.

Åberg tied the lowest 72-hole total in PGA TOUR history, matching Justin Thomas' 2017 Sony Open score, and set a record for the lowest score over a tournament’s final two rounds (61-61).

This success is part of an impressive professional debut, winning two of the 14 events since turning pro in June, showcasing patience and maturity. Now ranked in the top 50 of the Official World Golf Ranking, Åberg's blend of modern prowess, old-school demeanor, and strategic approach has sparked discussions and even comparisons to Tiger Woods.

⚾️ FROM MOUND TO GREEN ⛳️

Hall of Fame pitcher John Smoltz has advanced to the Final Stage of PGA TOUR Champions Q-School after securing a T14 finish at First Stage in Valrico, Florida, with a score of 1-over 289.

The 55-year-old former Atlanta Braves right-hander, known for his illustrious baseball career, will now compete at TPC Scottsdale's Champions course from Dec. 5-8, aiming to secure one of the five PGA TOUR Champions cards available in a field of approximately 80 players.

TGL DEBUT SEASON DELAYED

The new TGL golf league has announced the postponement of its inaugural season until early 2025 due to a dome deflation incident caused by a failure in the temporary power system during construction.

Despite the setback, key partners (including players, team ownership groups, PGA TOUR leadership, and commercial partners) expressed continued support for TGL, emphasizing the extended timeline will enhance the league's delivery — and provide an opportunity for stronger planning and engagement, with the season now set to launch on ESPN in 2025.

5TH CAREER WIN FOR YANG

Republic of Korea's Amy Yang won the CME Group Tour Championship, claiming a $2 million winner's check in a closely contested battle with Japan's Nasa Hataoka. Yang secured her victory with back-to-back birdies on the final two holes, finishing at 27-under, breaking the previous 72-hole scoring record, and becoming the oldest champion of the 2023 season at 34 years, 3 months, and 22 days.
