Bryson DeChambaeu celebrates his final round 58 at Greenbrier (Eakin Howard)
Bryson DeChambaeu made LIV golf history as the first player to go sub 60 in tournament play with a final round of 58 at Greenbrier on Sunday.
Once DeChambaeu hit the 18th green in regulation, it seemed inevitable a sub 60 round would be had, but a 59 wasn’t enough as he proceeded to sink the 35-foot putt to card a 58. Truly an incredible round and an extremely rare feat in the game of golf.
He was one shot shy of tying the professional golf record of 57, which has been done only once by David Carey in 2019 on the Alps Tour.
The historic round for DeChambaeu also helped secure the 1st place finish and $4 million payday at the LIV Greenbrier tournament.

A FIRST WIN FOR BRYSON, AND A FIRST ROUND UNDER 60 IN #LIVGOLF HISTORY! 😱

A PUSH FOR THE PLAYOFFS
The Wyndham Championship provided the last opportunity for PGA Tour golfers to jump into the top 70 in the FEDEX Cup Standings and earn a spot in the playoffs starting next week in Memphis. While Lucas Glover secured his spot in the playoffs with the win at the Wyndham Championship, other fan-favorites saw their season come to an end.
After a very poor season, Justin Thomas, one of the most popular players on the tour and a playoff staple since 2015, found himself on the outside looking in heading into the final round on Sunday.
Knowing it would come down to a few shots, Thomas laid it all on the line to try and secure the last spot in the playoffs. Unfortunately, his birdie chip-in attempt on 18 hit the pin and landed just shy of the hole.
Thomas settled for par which pushed him to 71 in the standings, leaving him along with a few other notable golfers out of the playoffs. Goes to show even the best golfers on the planet can go through slumps in the game of golf.
WOW!
An INCREDIBLE effort from @JustinThomas34 to try and keep his season alive!
