SUB 60 HEADLINES

It took Bud Cauley 239 tries, but the 36-year-old finally has a PGA Tour trophy, and few wins have felt this earned.
Cauley closed with a 5-under 65 at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley to win the RBC Canadian Open at 17-under, two clear of a charging Matt Fitzpatrick (64). A four-birdie burst on the back nine turned a tight Sunday into a coronation.
The backstory is what hits. Seven years ago, a car crash left Cauley with broken ribs, a broken leg and a collapsed lung, and nearly out of golf entirely. He didn't make it back to the Tour full-time until 2024.
Now he's a winner, with a U.S. Open tee time and a 2027 Masters invite as bonuses.
OTHER TOUR ACTION
In Michigan, the LPGA's only team event crowned two first-time winners at once: Gina Kim and Yana Wilson closed with an 8-under 62 to take the Dow Championship at 17-under. Wilson, 19, became the youngest champion in tournament history.
On the PGA Tour Champions, Zach Johnson made his home-state debut count, running away with the Principal Charity Classic in Des Moines by four. The Iowa native is now a perfect eight-for-eight in top-10s as a senior rookie.
U.S. OPEN IS HERE
The year's third major is here. The U.S. Open returns to Shinnecock Hills (June 18–21), the brutal, breezy Long Island links where par is a trophy and almost nobody finishes under it.
Scottie Scheffler arrives as the favorite, chasing the career Grand Slam, and he turns 30 on Sunday, the day they hand out the hardware. Rory McIlroy, fresh off back-to-back green jackets, headlines the chase, while defending champ J.J. Spaun looks to recapture last June's Oakmont magic.
