Campbell's victory carried emotional weight - exactly 10 years after missing the cut as an amateur at this same tournament. His journey from a quintuple-bogey at Q-School to two-time winner proves that accuracy trumps distance. Despite ranking 171st in driving distance, Campbell's precision and clutch putting sealed the deal when it mattered most.
The final round delivered Sunday drama with multiple lead changes. Campbell took control with three birdies in four holes on the back nine, only to double-bogey the 15th after finding trees off the tee. Grillo seized momentum but three-putted the 16th for bogey, opening the door for Campbell's playoff heroics.
“It all started here as an amateur with the first invite here and I’ve loved it ever since.”

Campbell's story reads like golf fiction. Standing as the shortest player on tour, he nearly retired after that devastating Q-School performance. Fast-forward to 2025, and he's become the sixth multiple winner this season. His approach? "I can't overpower courses, so I have to outthink them," Campbell explained after his emotional victory.

Three Open Championship spots await the highest finishers not already qualified, adding extra motivation to the $9 million co-sanctioned event. Links conditions and Scottish weather promise tactical chess matches rather than driving contests.
