French Phenom Pavon Prevails at Torrey Pines

SUB 60 HEADLINES
Matthieu Pavon secured his first PGA TOUR victory at the Farmers Insurance Open on Sunday — a win that was only made possible following a stunning performance at the DP World Tour Championship last November, where four consecutive birdies earned him a T5 finish and a coveted PGA TOUR card.
Pavon's career has been marked by defying expectations, from his journey as the son of a soccer star to overcoming chipping yips and rising from the 890th-ranked amateur to now a PGA TOUR winner.
The 32-year-old Frenchman's resilience and belief in himself propelled him to a 13-under victory at Torrey Pines, making him the first Frenchman to win on the PGA TOUR (Arnaud Massey won The Open at Royal Liverpool in 1907). The French radio call below says it all:
His historic win not only breaks a long-standing French drought in PGA TOUR victories but also solidifies his status as a PGA TOUR member through 2026, marking a remarkable ascent from his humble beginnings in the sport. Bravo Matthieu.
