SOLO ACT

Andrew Novak already had a trophy from the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, which he won in 2025 as half of a team with Ben Griffin. This week he did it on his own.

Novak opened with a 67, then went 61-62 through the middle rounds and carried a six-shot lead into Sunday. It shrank to three after a bogey at the 10th. Then he birdied 12, 13 and 14 and closed with a 69 for a 25-under 259 and a five-shot win at Vidanta Vallarta. It is his first individual PGA Tour title and it paid $1.08 million and 500 FedExCup points.

Steven Fisk and Kristoffer Ventura tied for second at 20 under and each took home $534,000. Ventura jumped from 108th to 76th in the FedExCup Fall, which locks up his full card for 2027. Griffin, Novak's old Zurich partner, tied for fourth.

The ripple effect: Novak went from 89th to 53rd in the FedExCup and from 90th to 58th in the world ranking, a 32-spot leap that puts him in the OWGR top 60.

DEFENDING HER TURF

Miyu Yamashita won the Maybank Championship at Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club for the second straight year. She finished at 22-under 266, two clear of China's Yan Liu (20 under), and collected $450,000 from the $3 million purse.

SUB 60 GOLF FANTASY

Novak and Griffin won as a pair in New Orleans, and now they are both on the leaderboard in Mexico. The plot thickens in Los Cabos: Griffin is the defending champion at the World Wide Technology Championship, fresh off a T4 next to his old partner's breakthrough.

A WORD FROM OUR PARTNER: ATLAS SALT

Why Overseas Producers Can't Undercut Atlas Salt, Even for Free

Cities are already running short on road salt, and winter hasn't even started. Some supply bids are going unanswered, prices have nearly doubled in parts of the market, and the backup plan is two weeks away by boat. Here's why Atlas Salt (TSXV: SALT | OTCQX: SALQF) can get salt to the people who need it most, faster and cheaper than anyone shipping from overseas:

• Three days by ship to Boston, not fourteen

• Shallow deposit that's cheaper and faster to mine

• Projected C$188M a year in free cash flow

• Export Development Canada interested in lending C$150M

• Early supply deal with top U.S. salt distributor
