Harris English won the 2025 Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego this past weekend, marking his fifth PGA Tour victory and ending nearly a 4-year drought since his last win at the 2021 Travelers Championship.

He finished the tournament with a total score of 8-under 280, clinching the win with a final-round score of 1-over 73 despite challenging conditions.

English's victory was highlighted by his ability to scramble effectively, especially on the back nine, where he parred his last 12 holes to maintain his lead. His performance was significant not only for the win but also for the personal milestone of being his first victory as a father.

English's win netted him $1,674,000, 500 FedExCup points, and also moved him up 41 spots and into the top 60 of the Official Golf World Rankings.

YOUTUBER SIGNS WITH LIV GOLF

Youtube star Rick Shiels has signed a multi-year strategic partnership with LIV Golf to become an official ambassador and content creator for the league. This deal marks LIV Golf's first major collaboration with a prominent content creator, aiming to leverage Shiels' extensive 2.9M YouTube subscribers to bring golf fans closer to the game and its players.

Shiels, known for his instructional videos and golf content, will travel to all 14 LIV Golf events in 2025 to produce content, including his popular "Break 75" series at each venue, along with new formats like the "10 Shot Challenge" and team-based events.

YouTube golf channels have become increasingly popular, with creators like Rick Shiels, Good Good Golf, and Bryson DeChambeau amassing large followings and viewership numbers that often surpass those of official PGA Tour channels.

The PGA Tour has recognized this shift and is also making attempts to innovate by integrating with digital content creators through events like the "Creator Classic" and forming a "Creator Council" to enhance fan engagement and content collaboration. However, there's a sentiment among viewers and creators that the PGA Tour's approach might be too slow or traditional in adapting to this new digital landscape, where personalities and quick, engaging content are key.
