Scotland's Robert MacIntyre claimed his maiden PGA TOUR victory at the RBC Canadian Open, with his father Dougie as his caddie. MacIntyre's final-round 68 secured a one-stroke win over Ben Griffin.

The victory earns MacIntyre exempt status through 2026, entry into premier events, and a likely top-60 world ranking. Dougie, who hadn't caddied since 2017, provided crucial support for his son.

Despite financial challenges in his youth, Robert credits his humble upbringing and his parents' work as foster parents for his resilience and character. The emotional win was sealed with a heartfelt father-son embrace on the 18th green.

US WOMEN’S OPEN

Yuka Saso, 22, became the youngest two-time champion in U.S. Women's Open history with her emotional victory at Lancaster Country Club on Sunday, dedicating the win to her supportive family.

Despite doubts after a long layoff since her first Open win in 2021, Saso charged up the leaderboard on the final day, carding a 2-under 68 for a 3-shot victory while her competitors struggled on the challenging course.

PRODIGY GETS CHANCE WITH THE PROS

Miles Russell, a 15-year-old golf prodigy, has been granted a sponsor exemption to play in the PGA TOUR's Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit from June 27-30, 2024.

Russell has already made a name for himself by winning the Junior PGA Championship and Junior PLAYERS Championship in 2023, becoming the youngest player to be named the American Junior Golf Association's Player of the Year, and finishing T20 at the Korn Ferry Tour's Lecom Suncoast Classic.

He will be among the youngest players to debut on the PGA TOUR, following in the footsteps of recent 16-year-old standouts Kris Kim and Blades Brown, who both made the cut in PGA TOUR events in 2024.
