Scheffler secured his fifth victory of the season this weekend at the Memorial, the first win for Scheffler as a Father. Aside from being able to celebrate as a family of 3 for the first time, the win is a special one for Scheffler as he was able to overcome a tough loss in the same tournament last year. While falling just short by one stroke in 2023, Scheffler edged out Collin Morikawa by one stoke on Sunday and was able to continue his impressive streak of dominance in 2024.

Scheffler is the clear favorite heading into the US Open at Pinehurst this weekend. Scheffler’s odds to win the tournament are the best for any golfer to win a major since Tiger in 2009. Without any current weakness in his game, and having placed in the top 10 in all but one of his 13 appearances in 2024 (including five 1st place finishes , and two 2nd place finishes), it is hard to bet against the newly made father. To see how his wins stack up to other notable golfers since the beginning of 2022, just check out the tweet below.

Major Season Carries on at Pinehurst

The 124th US Open kicks off this Thursday at the 7,543 yard, par 70 Pinehurst no 2 course in North Carolina. The course is no stranger to iconic events as it has hosted 4 previous PGA Major Tournaments, 1 LPGA Major Tournament, and also 1 Ryder Cup. Known for its “Turtleback Greens”, players after their practice rounds are already commenting on the “speed” of the greens and the challenges that lie just off the fairway.

Aside from the historic course and its challenging conditions, golf fans should be in for a real treat this weekend. Despite the overwhelming odds in favor of Scottie Scheffler, there are a few other notable storylines to keep in mind while heading into the 3rd major of the season

  • Can Xander Schauffele make a run at back-to-back majors?

  • How will LIV golfers Jon Rahm and Bryson Dechambeau (who have been trending in opposite directions this year) perform?

  • Will Tiger remain competitive in his 1st US Open in 4 years?

  • How will Adam Scott play in his 92nd straight major appearance?
