Canadian Taylor Pendrith captured his maiden PGA Tour victory at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson on Sunday. The 32-year-old drained a pivotal birdie putt on the final hole to edge Ben Kohles by one stroke and finish at 23-under par (Kohles was also seeking his first-ever PGA TOUR victory).

With the win, Pendrith secured $1.7 million, jumped to 34th in the FedExCup standings, and earned a two-year TOUR exemption. His compatriot and friend Mackenzie Hughes was on hand to celebrate Pendrith's first Tour title after 74 previous starts.

KOEPKA HITS STRIDE PRE PGA

Brooks Koepka is hitting his stride ahead of the PGA Championship. The four-time major winner captured the LIV Golf Singapore event on Sunday, posting a 15-under total for a two-shot victory. It was Koepka's tour-leading fourth LIV title this season.

More importantly, the win provides momentum as Koepka defends his PGA Championship in just over a week at Valhalla. With his game rounding into form after an intensive work period with coach Claude Harmon III, Koepka will be among the favorites to add another major to his resume. The potential arrival of world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler's first child will also create a potentially intriguing storyline.
