The mixed format, combining men and women players, provided entertaining moments and a unique experience. Despite its unofficial status, the tournament offered one of the LPGA Tour's largest purses outside of majors.

Golf's governing bodies, the USGA and R&A, have announced a plan for a golf ball rollback to address increased hitting distances in the sport. The proposal includes revised ball testing conditions to curb distance, especially at the professional level, with changes set to take effect in January 2028 for professionals and January 2030 for recreational golfers.

The adjustments aim to minimize the impact on recreational players, with estimates suggesting varying degrees of distance loss, particularly with the driver, but the governing bodies emphasize the need for a compromise to ensure the long-term stability of the sport. The PGA Tour has expressed concerns about the proposed changes, indicating ongoing discussions between the governing bodies and professional tours.
