Davis Riley emerged victorious at the 2024 Charles Schwab Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas, clinching his second career PGA Tour victory. The win comes two years after an impressive rookie season that showcased Riley's potential.

However, a two-year slump, during which his performance declined significantly, led him to reconnect with his swing coach. The renewed focus yielded dividends, as Riley displayed exceptional ball-striking throughout the tournament weekend.

Heading into the final round with a substantial four-stroke advantage, Riley maintained his exceptional form, finishing the tournament at an impressive 14 under par.

His performance left him five shots clear of joint runners-up Scottie Scheffler and Keegan Bradley. This win marks a significant milestone for Riley, as it not only represents his first individual PGA Tour victory, following his team success in 2023 but also earns him a substantial $1.6 million in prize money.

GRAYSON MURRAY

The golf community is mourning the sudden passing of two-time PGA TOUR winner Grayson Murray, at the age of 30. Despite the difficult circumstances, the Charles Schwab Challenge continued as per the wishes of Murray's family.

Fellow players and commissioner Jay Monahan expressed their condolences and shared memories of Murray, remembering him as a talented, courageous, and kind-hearted individual who had recently been exploring his faith. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this challenging time.

Michael Thorbjornsen, a Stanford golfer, has secured his PGA TOUR card as the No. 1 player in the PGA TOUR University Class of 2024. Despite missing the fall season due to injury, Thorbjornsen bounced back with a win at the Cabo Collegiate and five consecutive top-10 finishes. As a PGA TOUR member, he is now eligible to compete in events for the remainder of the 2024 and 2025 seasons.

As a reminder, the PGA TOUR University program offers top collegiate golfers a direct path to the PGA TOUR and its affiliated tours. The No. 1 ranked player earns a PGA TOUR card, while those ranked 2nd-5th and 6th-10th receive exempt and conditional Korn Ferry Tour membership, respectively.

Golfers ranked 11th-25th secure exempt status on PGA TOUR Americas for the remainder of the season, providing a clear pathway for young talents to launch their professional careers.
