Scheffler Defends Players Championship Title with Consecutive PGA Tour Wins

Scottie Scheffler indeed made history on Sunday by becoming the first golfer in the 50-year history of the Players Championship to secure two consecutive titles, tying Tiger Woods for the most wins in the tournament's history.

Let’s not forget that the win also marks his second consecutive this year, following his triumph at the Arnold Palmer Invitational last week.

The historic achievement adds to Scheffler's impressive streak of eight victories in the past 25 months, showcasing his remarkable consistency and elite ball-striking abilities. The man is simply on fire.

Despite the inevitable comparisons to Woods, Scheffler remains humble, acknowledging Woods' unparalleled status in the sport.

“Anytime you can be compared to Tiger, I think it is really special. I mean, the guy stands alone in our game — he really does.

I've got 14 more majors and 70-some PGA Tour events to catch up.

So, I think I'm going to stick to my routine and just continue to plod along, try and stay as even-keeled as I can.”
