SUB 60 HEADLINES

The PGA Tour took the week off. But that didn’t stop Vijay Singh from shining on the Senior Tour.
Vijay Singh is 63 and still doing this. The Fijian shot 69 in all three rounds at Prestonwood Country Club in Cary, North Carolina, to win the SAS Championship at 9-under 207, two clear of Ernie Els. It is his sixth Champions win and his first in three years. He is the seventh-oldest winner in tour history.
Singh trailed Tim O'Neal and Freddie Jacobson, who were tied at 6-under, before taking the lead at the turn. O'Neal cut it to one with three straight birdies, then made double bogey at the par-5 17th. That left Singh three clear with one to play.
The win also pays off in the standings. Singh started the week 57th in the Charles Schwab Cup and jumped to 33rd. The top 36 after the first two playoff events reach the season finale and lock in 2027 tour cards.
LPGA
Ruoning Yin did it again in Shanghai. She made a four-foot birdie on the 16th to break a back-nine tie with Hye-Jin Choi, then closed with two birdies in her last three holes to win the Buick LPGA Shanghai by one shot at 11-under 277. Choi finished at 10-under, and Amy Yang was third at 8-under.
Yin hit all 14 fairways on Sunday. It is her seventh LPGA win and her second in a row after the FM Championship. She also won here in 2024, making her the second player to win the event twice (Danielle Kang did it in 2018 and 2019). The check was $480,000.
