Sepp Straka won the 2025 American Express Golf Event, finishing at 25 under par to claim his third PGA Tour victory. His performance was highlighted by a bogey-free run until the 70th hole, culminating in a crucial par save on the last to beat Justin Thomas by two strokes.

Thomas, finishing second at 23 under, showed signs of returning to his major-winning form. Jason Day and Justin Lower tied for third at 22 under, while Patrick Cantlay and Charley Hoffman shared fifth place at 20 under.

The tournament, known for its birdie-fest nature, was played across three courses in La Quinta, California, with the cut made to the top 65 players and ties after 54 holes, a unique format compared to most PGA tour events.

Straka's win not only netted him $1,584,000 but also 500 FedEx Cup points, marking a great start to his 2025 season.

TGL WEEK 2 RECAP

In the second match of the 2025 TGL season, Los Angeles Golf Club (LAGC) dominated the Jupiter Links Golf Club (JLGC) with a resounding score of 12-1 at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

LAGC, led by the stellar performances of Collin Morikawa, Sahith Theegala, and Justin Rose, left no room for doubt about their championship aspirations. The match was a testament to the team's synergy and individual skill, with each member contributing significantly to the victory.

The Tiger Wood’s led Jupiter Links Golf Club started the night off with Tiger’s walk out to “Eye of the Tiger” that had everyone up their feet but things quickly fell apart from there. They found themselves unable to keep up with LAGC's pace after aggressive play with the hammer and early errors in the opening few holes. Woods and his team struggled to find any rhythm and the match was out of hand before the singles play started.

The Next TGL match will be played tonight and will feature the New York Golf Club and the Atlanta Drive Golf Club facing off in what will hopefully be more competitive than the first two TGL matches.

Tune in tonight on ESPN at 7pm to see Justin Thomas and company tee if off into the big screen for the first time in the league, while Rickie Fowler and team try and redeem their poor performance in week 1.
