Scottie Scheffler wins the 2025 BMW Championship at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Maryland, finishing at 15-under par with a final round of 3-under 67, earning $3.6 million and 2,000 FedEx Cup points, keeping him at number 1 in the Fedex Cup standings heading into the Tour Championship next weekend. Scheffler began the final round four shots behind leader Robert MacIntyre, but erased the deficit in just five holes, and took the lead with a birdie on the seventh. Victory was all but sealed when Scheffler delivered a must-see dramatic chip-in birdie from 82 feet on the 17th, denying McIntyre any kind of dramatic comeback.

MacIntyre struggled on Sunday despite being in prime position, shooting a 3-over 73 to finish second at 13-under, earning $2.16 million. The tournament, part of the FedEx Cup Playoffs, saw intense competition for the top-30 spots, with Akshay Bhatia clinching the last position (thanks to an electric bmw-winning hole-in-one). Scheffler’s fifth win of the season, despite missing regular caddie Ted Scott, positions him as a favorite for the Tour Championship, aiming to be the first repeat FedEx Cup champion since 2007.
We’re just 44 days away till the Ryder Cup - one of the most anticipated sporting events of the year. The 6 automatic qualifiers for team USA are set while team Europe has 1 automatic qualifying spot left that will be decided after the Betfred British Masters on August 24th.

USA Captain Keegan Bradley will have a tough decision as he makes his captains picks to fill out the 12-man roster on August 27th, just after the Tour Championship wraps up. Europe Team captain Luke Donald will have a similar task as he must make his final decision on his captain’s picks to fill out his 12-man roster on September 1st.
Scheffler Shines: To the surprise of no-one, Scheffler once again found a way to triumph over the field as his remarkable 82’ chip-in on the 17th hole found the bottom of the cup to essential clinch his 5th victory this year.
Tour Championship: The stage for the Tournament Championship is set where 30 players will battle for the Tour Championship and a massive $10 million prize. Defending champion Scottie Scheffler is once again the favorite heading into the tournament where a “starting strokes” format will not be implemented this year so all players will begin at even par.
Other Tour Action: Richard Green claims his first PGA Tour Champions title at the Rogers Charity Classic with a final-round 65. Sebastian Munoz won LIV Indianapolis in a playoff over 2025 LIV Individual Title winner Jon Rahm, who takes home the title despite not winning a single tournament during the season.
Anyone going to take a page out of Phil’s book this year when they introduce Scottie? 🤣
