SUB 60 HEADLINES

Viktor Hovland ended a 15-month drought in the most satisfying way possible, by outlasting the best player on the planet. He and Scottie Scheffler finished the Travelers Championship tied at 21-under 259, but Sunday lightning pushed the finish to Monday morning.
On the first playoff hole, Hovland rolled in a 7-foot birdie and Scheffler lipped out from short range. That is win number eight, the first international champ at Cromwell in a decade, and a clean 2-0 playoff record. Not bad for a Monday.
It is worth noting what this does to Scheffler's odd season. The world No. 1 now has four runner-up finishes in 2026, two of them playoff losses, despite barely losing a step. He even shot 60 in round two. Some weeks the golf gods just shrug.
A busload of Norwegian World Cup fans drove two hours from Boston to Cromwell, brought their now-famous "Viking row" to the course, and chanted Hovland's name all day. After the win, Hovland sat down and did the row himself. Norway's next World Cup match? Dallas, Scheffler's hometown.
WOMEN’S PGA CHAMPIONSHIP
Haeran Ryu authored the comeback of the year at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship. She trailed by 10 shots after round one, the largest first-round deficit ever erased to win this major, then closed it out at Hazeltine for a two-shot win over Ina Yoon. It is a first major for the South Korean, and a well-earned one at 13-under 275.
UP NEXT: JOHN DEERE CLASSIC
The Tour heads to TPC Deere Run for the John Deere Classic, July 2–5. Two-time champ Jordan Spieth headlines, but the buzz is around the kids. Jackson Koivun makes his pro debut after a T23 at the U.S. Open, joining a wave of young talent hunting a first win. Brian Campbell defends.
