SUB 60 HEADLINES

THE ISLAND GREEN GIVETH (AND TAKETH AWAY)

Cameron Young is a Players champion. The 28-year-old from Scarborough, New York came from four shots back on Sunday at TPC Sawgrass to win the biggest event of his career, finishing at 13-under 275 and pocketing $4.5 million from the $25 million purse. It is his second PGA Tour win — just seven months after finally breaking through at the 2025 Wyndham Championship after seven career runner-up finishes.

The Sunday drama was unforgettable. Ludvig Åberg entered the final round with a three-shot lead and promptly found water on both holes 11 and 12, making a bogey and double-bogey to fall completely out of contention. That left Matt Fitzpatrick and Young to settle it.

Young drained a 9.5-foot birdie putt on the par-3 17th to pull level, then striped a 375-yard drive on 18 and made par. Fitzpatrick, needing a par to force a playoff, missed an 8-foot putt on 18 — giving Young the title outright. It was brutal for Fitzpatrick. It was brilliant for Young.

Elsewhere, Collin Morikawa withdrew after just one hole on Thursday after hurting his back on a practice swing, and defending champion Rory McIlroy ground through back spasms all week to finish at even par — well outside contention. Both are now racing the clock ahead of the Masters.

SUB 60 GOLF FANTASY: THE VALSPAR

Think you could have called Cameron Young this week? Put your picks where your mouth is. Åberg blew a three-shot lead. Fitzpatrick missed a two-footer. Picks are hard — but a lot more fun when something is on the line.

BRYSON WINS A LUCKY ONE

Over in Singapore, Bryson DeChambeau won LIV Golf Singapore at Sentosa Golf Club — but he did not look like a winner doing it. DeChambeau and wild card Richard T. Lee both finished at 14-under 270 to force a playoff.

In extra holes, DeChambeau hit his tee shot into the water. Lee had the win in his hands. Then Lee missed a 2-foot par putt to hand DeChambeau the title and $4 million. Lee himself called it "absolutely brutal." DeChambeau called it lucky. The 4 Aces GC claimed their second consecutive team title.

THE SNAKE PIT AWAITS

The Florida Swing wraps up this week at Innisbrook Resort's Copperhead Course in Palm Harbor — one of the toughest non-major venues on Tour. Defending champion Viktor Hovland is back, and the field includes Xander Schauffele (riding a T3 at The Players), Matt Fitzpatrick (motivated after Sunday's heartbreak), Jordan Spieth, and a returning Brooks Koepka in his first Valspar since 2022. With just three events remaining before the Masters, every round counts.
