Wyndham Clark put on a Sunday clinic at TPC Craig Ranch, firing an 11-under 60 in the final round to win the CJ Cup Byron Nelson at 30-under 254 — three clear of Si Woo Kim. The back nine was something else: five birdies, an eagle, a 28 on the card.
Clark is now the only player in PGA Tour history to win two events with a closing 60, the other being the 2023 U.S. Open champion's rain-shortened Pebble Beach win in 2024. He pockets $1.8 million from the $10.3 million purse, his 4th career PGA Tour win and first full 72-hole title since Pinehurst.
The week had plenty of drama before Sunday. Si Woo Kim nearly made history in Round 2, going 11-under through 17 holes before a bogey on 18 — settling for a 60 instead of a 59. He led by five heading into the weekend, but Clark and Scottie Scheffler (who finished solo third at -25) chipped away. When Clark eagled the par-5 12th and drained a 45-footer on 15, it was over. Kim finished second at -27. Jackson Suber posted a career-best solo fourth at -23.
WORTH THE WAIT
In Morocco, 52-year-old Australian Scott Hend claimed his first-ever PGA Tour Champions title at the Trophy Hassan II, shooting 15-under (66-69-69) for a five-shot win over Steven Alker and Tommy Gainey.
Hend spent most of his career grinding on the Asian Tour — 10 wins, fourth all-time on the circuit. His wife Leanne was on the bag the last time she watched him win — the week they got married, 24 years ago. She was greenside in Morocco for this one too. T4 went to Ernie Els and Alex Cejka at -8.
CHARLES SCHWAB UP NEXT
The PGA Tour heads to Fort Worth for the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club (May 28–31), the tour's longest-running non-major host since 1946. Ben Griffin defends his 2025 title at Hogan's house. Ludvig Åberg, Justin Thomas, Russell Henley, Rickie Fowler, and newly-minted Byron Nelson champion Wyndham Clark headline the field.
Scottie Scheffler and Jordan Spieth are taking the week off. With the U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills on the horizon (June 18–21), Colonial is the last warmup for many before the summer major season heats up.
